My name is Michael Gardner, I am SO excited to have you (or your student) in class this year. This will be my 12th year of teaching; 5th year here at Skyline High School. As you can see from above, I teach Spanish 1A, Spanish 1B and Spanish 2.
I previously taught for 7 years at an all-boys' private boarding school in Northeast Ohio, where I was coaching year-round and had numerous other responsibilities. While I was there I obtained my Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in Differentiation. While studying for my undergraduate degree, I did take a year off from my studies to study and live abroad in Salamanca, Spain.
I am from the Sammamish area, having graduated from Eastlake High School before attending Washington State University. Before I left the great Pacific Northwest, I met my amazing wife and dragged her out to my first teaching position in Ohio. That is where we were married and began our family by having 3 amazing little boys. She began her undergraduate degree in Pscyhology before we returned, but now having completed her degree, she too has begun working in the district as an LRC2 Teacher down the hill at Issaquah High School.
I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you through this year and helping you navigate this year in your Spanish career here at Skyline! I hope that there are numerous ways that I will get to know you, your background and about your dreams for your future. I also am an Assistant Coach on the Freshman Football team and the Head Coach of the Freshman Baseball team. So, like I said, I look forward to getting to know you (and/or your student) much better. Good luck this year and Go Spartans!
